15 enthusiastic hikers arrived on July 31st for 3 full days of hiking in Cathedral Provincial Park near Keremeos. Two of the participants stayed in the lodge while the others camped at Quiniscoe Lake. The sites were first come first serve, so we were lucky to get an area together.
Having considered this backpack for a few years now, we decided to put this trip out to the Wednesday North Group and found 2 club members willing to accompany us on this adventure. The weather was warm, clear and sunny during the day, crisp at night and the moon was on the cusp of being full.

Another VOA work party on the Slesse memorial trail was conducted August 27, 2016.
Alan, Alexis, Mike and Dianne set off with their usual heavy packs for an overnight stay at Elsay Lake. It was nice and cool in the parking lot but as the day progressed it became quite warm. Luckily, there was enough shade to protect the group from the heat.
